பொக்கிஷம், ஒரு வாழ்க்கை புதையல்...

சில நாட்களாக ஒரு படத்தை குறைந்தது இரண்டு முறை பார்க்காமல் விமர்சனம் எழுதுவது இல்லை என்று இருந்தேன், ஆனால் பொக்கிஷம் படத்தை இரண்டாவது முறை பார்க்கும் பொறுமை-யே, மன வலிமையே இல்லாத காரணத்தினால் அதில் உள்ள சில நல்ல முயற்சிகளை பற்றி குறிப்பிட விரும்புகிறேன்.

காதல் ஒரு மனிதனை அந்நாட்களில் கடிதங்கள் வழியாக எப்படி ஆட்டிப் படைத்திருக்கிறது என்பதைக் மிக இனிமையாய் நம் கண் இமைகளை நனைக்கிறது, பொக்கிஷம்! நிறைவேறாத காதலுக்கு அர்த்தம் தர முனைந்திருக்கிறார். அதில் நம் கண்களில் நம்மை அறியாமல் நீர் வழிவது, சேரனின் வெற்றி...ஆனால், இவ்வளவு படங்கள் எடுத்தும் அவரிடம் உள்ள amature-ism ஒரு அறிய பொக்கிஷத்தை தொலைத்து விட்டது. தயவு செய்து நீங்கள் camera பின்னால் மட்டுமே இருந்தால் உத்தமம் ஐயா, வேண்டாம் நடிப்பு, please, முடியலை...ஆனால் உங்கள் முயற்சிக்கு என்னிடம் வார்த்தைகள் இல்லை. பல தவறுகலை தவிர்த்திருந்தால் இது ஒரு மாபெரும் படைப்பு. சீரிய முயற்சி, தாராளமாய் ஆதரிக்கலாம்...கொஞ்சம், sorry, நிறைய பொறுமை இருந்தால்!

மெல்லிய சாக்ஸஃபோன் கசிவால் சில இடங்களில் பின்னனி இசை பின்னி எடுக்கிறது, ஆனால் அதுவே பல இடங்களில் பாடாய் படுத்துகிறது...‘நிலா நீ வானம் காற்று'...பாடல், சின்மயி,விஜய் ஏசுதாஸின் குரலில் இனிமை.

இன்றைய மானங்கெட்ட மசாலா படங்களுக்கு நடுவில் மனதை உலுக்கும் ஒரு முயற்சி!!

Globalization and Kali Yuga

My anonymous friend comment on my last post,

"Modern Day Philosophy:Its all b'coz all the modern world is coming under one single ideology - that is money!.

...Nice, i really like his ideologies, especially on human existence and its destination. For this he must curse on Chinese for inventing money, but my ideologies are quite different from him. Globalization, is not a simple strategic activity, its a world longest war, and its a well derived evolution of nature from culture, tradition, geography and community, moreover it has all kind of respects along with the opportunity for co-existence for co-driver(another human). Its not all about the big eat the small, instead its about the fast eat the slow, nothing beyond much more than this in this globalization. If you can't adopt this situation, you'll be predominantly outstripped by your co-driver, then the differentiation is going to eat you. For instance, whatever you've got, no matter how small or big, sell it, trade it, leverage it, rent it, but do something with it to turn a profit and get into the game is called globalization!

By the way i don't know what he tries to mean about Kali yuga, but in my words Kali yuga means 'Know All Lies Instantly yuga' is called KALI yuga.

Show me the meaning of being alonly...

Many times i work at being alone, but what i feel then was very different from feeling loneliness. Loneliness, to me, is motivating myself, a reuniting my way of life and goals. Loneliness for me is never be a painful, when i know that I'm truly aware of me, i get out and go with people or otherwise i go with people and get into loneliness, then go with people. It teaches a lot, its the only thing that teaches time, the presence of present(and no one is an island, but whole world is an island!!) And it takes me to survive, then to fittest survive.

Travel, get inspired..

I can prove that the traveling is one of the best way to learn and get inspired. I realized this so early, since last one month i was busy on my usual things, now again i thought of re-starting my soul of vagabond. Before i start again i would like to share some of my experiences about travel.

A journey is an adventure, if you go with a group, that adventure will get lost its aesthetics, so better travel alone or with strangers. And wander the streets and experience the freedom of looking and getting inspired, also listen the taste, lifestyle, habits, food, from near or far.

Avoid going same places in same seasons. Some fools will get repeat their trips as if they get saturated with their pilgrimage.

Be open and hang out in local and multi-cultured bars. Of course, taste the blend or malt of the local drinks, and take long time to get drunken. Try to get speak with co drinkers, no one will worry/object what you 're speaking in that kinda travel places. Who knows, it pours some millions or billions in future.

Avoid going Museums, statues, historical places. You can see those things through some other means, or what might be the use of hanging over the hanged overs?

Don't buy too much which you should carry along with you and also don't try to watch all places or talk lots of people, nothing will be fulfilled. Be selective and seductive. If you are in long travel, then you can keep companion, but if its short, avoid companions, she might eat your brain along with your money.

No Fun

I'm trying hard to write some articles, but its harder to get time in these few days like before. One of them is about King of pop's death...But, nobody seems to believe Michael Jackson's shockingly short death, coz' his 'History' is like that. However his music ll live forever. What so sad here is, the specific cause of his death is yet to be find out!!

Another one is about 'Naadodigal' movie review. Its not because that it will give a new dimension to commercial cinema, but each and every scene in this movie created such an applause among the audiences. I've never seen such an acclamation in recent movies. This movie has lots of lessons for super stars and super directors.

And wanna write about futile Indian music culture. Actually, I'm running out of time now, since i need to finish off some very important works...till then, no fun.

Blend is a trend..

In my last post, Mr.Anonymous said as that my thoughts are open as well as occidental and oriental. Exactly he is right. But in reality, the terms called occidental and oriental are an idea of antediluvian. In this hasty globalization era, everything from food, music, sex, culture, lifestyle, fashion has influenced each from the other. So there is a great need for blend. It also becomes a trend. Same way my thoughts and activities too has these blended elements. Its an intrinsic way of life. Nobody would infringe this evolution.

Metamorphic Movies 6 (Kim-ki-duk)

Cruelty/disturbing/idiosyncrasies/hatred aesthetics are the mother of Kim-Ki-Duk, a rare breed Korean film maker...Does contextual things are essential for an art? He says no, never..a real spoiler of contextual film making! I never seen such kinda film before his films...such an aesthetic art his movies are.. His movies are real cult among rough cuts. And his movies may be in Korean language, but it ll disturb even an uneducated tribe! His plots are unimaginable, and his making makes waves inside your veins.

I had seen some of his movies, every movies drag you towards his other movies to watch, such an artistic touch. Majority of his movies dialogues are around 20 minutes, but the way he had used the non-verbal language is forever hurts you. Kim-ki-duk is a real idiosyncratic or eccentricity movie maker. Once you watch his movie, you can tell his another movie as Kim's movie without seeing title card. His movies are not only shows the beauty, moreover it shows the ugly side of the beauty! He never cheat his own passion like other filmmakers, by giving place for some restrictions with external factors of film making.

The first movie i watched was "Spring, summer, fall, winter and spring", all about a Buddhist monk's life from childhood to old age through five seasons as five segments on a floating boat monastery. A life cycle from spring to spring with contemplative approach.

Another movie called "The Isle", a troublesome love among a prostitute and her customer on fishing resort. I say its an authentic aesthetics of cruelty. Consciously concerned with metaphysical approach.

Then "3-iron", another love story about a strange drifter and battered wife. What makes me wonder is there was no dialogues between these two till end of the movie.

Almost and always his protagonist speaks less or nothing, may be because in somehow or someway they're wounded deeply inside. An aesthetics of violence in silent way. Besides these things what really impress me in his movies is that he always making movies with some confrontation of questions among the audiences. Moreover he never wants economic success by killing artistic touch. Likewise i can write about his movies address unknown, Time, Bad guy and so...but what resists me is, the curiosity on his other movies in my collection!!

Existential Philosophy

Before i start, i accept that im not much a multi-cultured or sometimes not even a cultured one. Moreover im writing only with a mere perception on how i see the world of people, culture, art, society, fun, insane, sin and all. So it may be wrong if i try to talk about "existentialism", but in my view its a form of philosophy, its roots are found in some blah-blah-blah philosophists, and its not about a social conflict instead full of individual own sickness rather it suggests that the remedy for this sickness has in its ownself. Furthermore its all about authenticity, be aware of yourself. At last, its about confronting the truth and right/wrong and insane. Existentialism is very nearer to our eastern philosophy which seeks past own experiences to shape the present, otherwise, an inner world dependent. Western deals with outer world or much towards rationality and materialistic. Besides 'Existentialism' denies religion, but Eastern philosophy has robust bond with religion. So, i hope now that anonymous' doubt has been cleared. By the way Mr.Anonymous, its easy to raise questions, but you dont know how hard i tried to make this 'e'ism' as very simple and crisp, that too for my knowledge.

ஒரு படத்தினால் வந்த இன்னொரு படம்!

ஹீ ஹீ...இப்படியும் சிலர் இருக்கத்தானே செய்கிறார்கள். இரவு ஒரு ஒரு மணியளவில் படம் பார்த்துவிட்டு வீடு திரும்புகையில், என்னை திருப்பிய  ஒரு காட்சி!

...to be civilized!

Is superior ideology of a dominant society is the cause for genocide? or racial inferior of revolutionaries itself? Then were does Sri lankan democratic government starts to involve with this genocide? a hybrid genocide? autogenocide? Is too much of power in too few hands is the reason? Paradoxically, I'm totally horrified and confused about this term 'Genocide'. However, Genocide is a crime under International law! But, this International law is for civilized world, but world is not civilized yet!?... Then who will care about this brutal genocide? 

No one, till each and every human will become xenophobic, and then last human can claim "Genocide is a crime under International law" firmly. Till then we can give statements, write, read, discuss or even publish books like http://www.pagegangster.com/p/2Lweq/ ...no government or organisation is going to stop this, unless that these set-ups have some kinda purposes. So at last the successful exhaust-ers are both superiors and inferiors! 

No more couch potato

Film making is an art, not an absolute spontaneous one. Its one of the well organised pre-planned art. Which has enough room to re-think and re-imagine. Though it involves lot of human work, as our population, India's creating worlds large number of movies in a year, but a very few movies are in world standard. Out of all industries, the technical think tank in movie making is in the level of appreciable. The package is well, but products taste is awful. Operation success, patient dead! what might be the reason for this flawed culture/period reflective creations? actually movies are one or only art which reflects the life exactly in that periods, people, style, fashion, cultural and habitual nuances, etc..Does our movies do this? Not necessarily it should reflect so-so's, but it has the responsibility to replicate those things and also there are much more hidden entertainments in the mirror of peoples currents life. There we're lagging still. The omnipresence of movie art in traditional and contemporary society is surely a hallmark in any period. Movies, literature, music, travel is always gives an on-going experience for me, it's a kinda existentialism, coz' it has its own aesthetics in itself. But no movie has this existentialism in current celluloid scenario. Here, i like to mention the meaning of OSHO, it has a strange meaning(courtesy:saravanan), like we have the word 'experience', do we have any word for experiencer? that is called OSHO in Sanskrit. So each and every audience should be an osho, an experiencer.Moreover, movies should be a life, an on-going experience. Present movies are like monkey jumping, each and every sequence/scenes are quite chunky, there is no continuity, in one scene the characters are speaking in some remote village, then the next scene they're singing and dancing in Swiss. This is a simple example, i can say lots of nuances like this.

In this case, Kim ki-duk, Steven soderberg(except ocean's series), Ameer(Raam and paruthiveeran(more or less or otherwise in tamil film industry)),krzysztof kieslowski are the rare case in film making, who doesn't look its ingredient outside from the plot. Movies are like poem, and that poem should be like

Come with us hand in hand

Join us in play and joyous dance

awaken from your dream of worldly worries

now light as a feather

as graceful as autumn leaves falling

hear the child calling

or in my words it should be slightly hungry, slightly cold or if i ll put it very simple, or may be like a drizzling or a feel after nightmare, or even it can be like the feel of an accidental death of a stranger who was speaking with you just few minutes back on roadside. If they do this, Indians are no longer been a couch potato.

And Oh my God, where did you come up with that?. So bad that you are recommending public and social drinking!!. Come on think useful and think selfless!!!

C.O: No, wrongly you understood..actually i told like after drinking, how the people are acting like? as very confident and non-slavish..so, in subconcious that attributes are still there..then, why dont be like that without drinking? thats what my question on that post..and this kinda existentialism is still there in themselves, but why people are not practicing it??...by the way i dint try to make any prejudice of drinking itself has some social welfare like that.

Actually Liquor shops in india may ruin people's lives and family, but people here never takes it as health issue, rather it involves an intellectual issue. When the period our people got introduced drinks, they dint think drinking as a leisure activity, instead they had taken it as a pain killer. Indians are basically great hard workers, so they needed some channel to get rid off physical pain, was the first nuance drinking becomes democratic. Then they became intellectual slaves, here they need some thing to reduce intellectual pain(burden), it results liquor barons in India become icon of India(Vijay Mallya, Rajya sabha MP). It's out of their inability and ailment. Moreover liquor shops are the only place where our people feel the real democracy and its rights as well as you called non-slavish things exists! If you wont belive, just be in liquor shops for an hour in peak time, then you find the feel of how our people are non slavish as well as the dreams of each and every belittled soul in their intellectual way. Also its a place where you can find the fourth and third world people too has the attribute of socialising. And there it shows that people still have confident and beliefs(only) in some good things in their subconcious.

பாதி காதல் பாதி முத்தம் போதாது போதாது போடா...

A real vocal and musical Fusion...that's what i say after listening the song "பாதி காதல் பாதி முத்தம் போதாது போதாது போடா..." from "மோதி விளையாடு" (modhi vilayadu), latest album from Hariharan and Leslie lewis. Beautiful experiment as well as an experience to listen. It has both carnatic(bombay jeyashree) and western(sunitha) blend, also its lyrics too enhance the joyance...musical வாத்சாயனம். In fact, i would say this is like smoking cigarette while drinking beer and the lyrics is like an ice cream after these two..and it would be Hari and leslie's hot stuff fun feel.

fLAW Makers

I like to add another point on my previous post about blogging, actually, nowadays its really hard to do almost all kinda deeds in democratic India, particularly if you want to do social service or legal thing without expecting appropriate returns, no way, no one let you do. This is what our matured thinkers/law makers or set-up-ers, blah-blah's left for our most esteemed democracy and present day democratic securities are also don't want to change those set-ups as they have in and around purpose and welfare for so called citizens. I say they are not Law makers, but fLAW makers. But one thing is sure in this information age to express your views and thoughts without any authorities permission, that is "blogging".  Blogging is now Democratized, is the most democratic thing in almost all countries(after TASMAC in TN). This is one worthy way to organise the current generation to make something useful or to reach them so easily.

 By the way i feel its enough of social service i made through blogging, though i don't have any intense of such kinda things(?? true!), so my next post will be about damn good movies, next version of Metamorphic movies. 

Keypad is mightier than sword

My friend Saravanan coined an issue on my previous posts' comment as, "not sure blogging can get people's ideas and thoughts to those people it has to reach!". I don't think so, since there are millions of blogger blogging constantly, most of them have no interesting readers, neither they are no more a better blogger and also they don't have any vision on it, but not necessarily would have any vision. What i feel on blogging apart from its a personal diary with its legal authority to read everyone, its a powerful way to find out your caliber to produce the channel to show or show off or know how interesting and inducing you are, and the way to measure the depth of your words. So days moves on, you get an idea on the choice of content and the ingredients want to add(if you dot have one) and before that you must believe in "Keypad is mightier than sword". Moreover blogging is a performing arts, no boundaries for its reflection, and of course at beginning it doesn't reach the people exactly to whom you're writing, but blogging has great impact/potential to change the society or to create awareness(i believe this is what he wants to initiate), that too through sole initiative. Yes, definitely it will organise the people in the minds of same vision. May not now, but very near future, with appropriate promoting activities and quality of thoughts, it will reach the people in the hunt of thoughts/opinions/ideas/deeds. Even now there are lot of politicians(Lalu, Rajeev), writers, reformers, literature-ists, actors(amir khan), management guru's(tom peters), consultants(paul graham), businessmen, etcetra's utilizing this as an appropriate platform to spread their thoughts unlimited-ly. 

People are strange, if you're a stranger!

Each and every day everyone has to commute some place to the other, especially if you travel alone, then the person infront of you is as interesting as you, its like a summer rain or hill train. Previously i avoided to speak with strangers, i just kept some kinda cult books on my hand and never liked to speak with others or allowed others with me, as i made my mind as speaking with strangers will spoil my mood or waste of time or spended that time to prepare myself for the way ahead. But its a real bad thinking, if you do like this, it means you're loosing an interesting part in lively life. Since we're always making up some kinda arrangements before doing whatever, evidently had lost the liveliness of life. In my case for instance, time move as the way that transport moves, some times its very interesting that our next and next to next strangers exchange of words, wheedles... Furthermore, its not necessarily on commuting, may be when you're in queue or with a marketing executive. In fact we can read that that cult books in home or bathroom or office or anywhere, but what important is you never get chance to speak and know the society's taste as well as it is a chance to rethink  whether you're living with people or under some kinda mass media's Influence!

Some people say there's nothing as strangers, strangers are who, when we were born our parents were strangers, then our class-mates, friends, watchmen, shop-keeper, angels, and demons. Bull shit...In my dictionary, strangers are beyond expectation, they speak different, eat different, sometimes disgusting, sometimes they will hit or hurt you, or even some will help you, but they don't know who you are or for why they are, sometimes you might fall in love, or even in lust. And it may not be your precious experience, be cautious, some strangers may shit on your head?! or for your fortune he may be some celebrity. I have had an wonderful experiences  like this, few months back , in Bangkok airport, i was smoking in smoking zone, suddenly i watched the fellow next to me was famous cricketer Wasim Akram! So at last, we smoked together!! So whats important is, not smoking, but don't be a strange or stranger, wherever and forever!

Election Insults, sorry results!

Election 2009 results are not an authentic reflection of whole Indian citizens.These are our fate, we have to accept our fate as a dump bum, we must. Reason is no one likes congress as a ruling party again for various reasons, but we don't have any good substitute for congress(and BJP too!). Reasonable number of people likes BJP to be in power, but they don't deserve that stand, because they failed to gather  conflicting votes of congress, and failed to have alliance with capable regional parties in the states which they performed bad. So congress sweeps with this advantage, and driven at the top. By the way regional parties damaged the conflicting votes for their ulterior motive(money??). So both BJP and regional parties battle goes under vanity. However, still our destiny is good, because we got a stable government at last..and musical chair politics ends!! Likewise i too happy for Tamil Nadu results, for quashing unsecular, and antecedent politics(சந்தர்ப்பவாத அரசியல்).

Sarvam: Expect the unexpected

Vishnuvardhan, a flamboyant and stylish filmmaker of the time in kollywood. The impact of his previous movies Pattiyal and arindum ariyaamalum created the hype to count days to think of what might be in the cells of this maker. I dint enjoy much of his "Billa", though it had taken as a masterpiece on gloss, style and protagonist's extreme glorification(கரிகிட்டா சொன்னா, மாஸ் மாமே!), lags in adaptation of screenplay, or the extra elements needed for upgraded version, and expected much fresher than its older version. 

Sarvam is all about unexpected things happens in our life and how we fix up our destiny ahead with it, nice thought or plot. Story tries to prove us that we are a victim of circumstances, but i dint get that feel.. Actually, Movie starts with two plots, one is Revenge and another one is Responsibility, out of miserability. Then incitement comes when miserable meets miserable, ends up as Miserable Vs Miserable. Both Eshwar(JD.Chakravarthy) and Karthik(Arya) knows the trauma of loss. One disastrous thinks that he must bring the same disaster for the cause into what he is now, but another thinks no one will get the pain like his own. Eshwar looks as an euphemistic approacher earlier, besides his face and words shows the violence in silent way. However, I felt very funny wherever Eshwar shouts at to show his inner cruelty, there is no extreme psychopath or mentally imbalanced state in his characterization. He wants to balance/level the traumatic feel with Naushad(Indrajith), who is the cause for his son's accidental death, by killing Naushads' son Iman. Karthik, incidentally involved in the story, is in the responsibility for the heart beat of Iman...the twist of fate at end of first half (inciting point of two stories) is awesome. Arya's logic or philosophy or preach at trisha's death is aweful, i accept that he is denying to belive, but the words he delivered is flimsy. 1st half in chennai, 2nd half done in Munnar(clue greeting card in the movie shows moonar), cinematography in first half stills you, second half chills..but as a thriller script, both halves failed to thrills. Its really a challenging aspect that if you wanna take a thriller movie without cruelty aesthetics or kinda brutal elements. Though the maker attained the intense he wants to show on Arya and Trisha's love in first half of the movie, each and every scene in first half denies to move at least a bit ahead. Actually the script writer forgets some of the ground rules of scripting, as entertainment is never be a romance or witty dialogues, but it is how you make interact the audience with your narration, i mean involvement. I'm really clueless how this ace director forgot this. 

Dialogues makes LOL through first half of the movie and this is the real armor for romantic sequence, but in de facto, sword is what needed to win with armour. However the way Arya tries to woo trisha provokes the laughter and claps with audience despite the repetition and verbosity feel. However i like that that sarcasm about Rajini kanth, demo with cell phones on how Trisha made car accident and "எனக்கு அதெல்லாம் தெரியாது, im a small boy" dialogue. 

Small boy, Iman, oops, steals the show as well as our heart solely. His reactions are like words out of vairamuthu's pen...poetic! or a freelance poetic!(sometimes freelance poems surprises unexpectedly). And there is well enough room for Montage song with this small boy to show his naughtyness and interaction with Arya, instead of two unwanted songs. 

Moreover, though it has nice story with better execution, weaker screenplay has been the cause for the negative payoff of the movie.

What hurts me is, Vishuvardhan too fell on filmy film making(சினிமாத்தனமான சினிமா). In his Previous movies he balanced filmy things brilliantly, however in sarvam, சர்வ பாடல்கலும் சினிமாத்தனமே...ஏன் சர்வமும் சில இடங்களில் சினிமாத்தனமே...unlike his perfectly crafted glorification of protagonist on his previous movies, poison infected Arya was being chased through one day and two nights...and at last the way Arya comes from burial is..is..முடியல...என்ன கொடுமை சார் இது!  And in all filmy movies, safeguard protects the need in person at the neck of the moments only, i don't know who will change this contextual rule. By the way in Tamil movies, we can't expect Sigmund Freuds as psychiatrists, can expect psychopath(Pradaap pothan) kinda psychiatrists only. However he too done well and Where he says இளையராஜா as எல்லைராஜா is another silent ஹீ ஹீ..

Apart from this, in technical aspects like cinematography, costume, art, dialogues, editing, casting are really on great standard, particularly cinematography and costume is awesome. 

சுட்டல் சூரியனை song is the real crest for editing, where in initial பல்லவி, single guitar string vibration in between நிக்கலான்டா and அடிச்சா வச்சகுறி words and its visualization placement is awesome.

 

And Computer Graphics is exceptionally well, yet i believe it wouldn't payoff..Futile!  

Yuvanshankar did some fantastic music score in his previous movies, i have great respect  for his score on Paruthiveeran movie(brilliantly reflected the ethinicity culture of the movie), altough in another time his score failed to synchronize the mood of "puthupettai" for its film-culture(but appropriate one for filmy culture!). Here in sarvam, background score is not bad, still in many nuances i felt he missed the real environmental track, may be he doesn't belive on those things besides he could reduce the noise a bit, so then he get an opportunity to add environmental track, on this issue there were many scenes Neerav shah made as beauty as he can, on the other hand yuvan drags that beauties to complete blunder one and first half is full of Illayaraja's melody and spanish guitar with heavy metal, is talkative. In songs yuvan did equally good, if not neerav shah has that ability to safeguard with his camera. சில இரவுகள், கனவுகள், சுவடுகள், நினைவுகள் நீதானே பாடல் இன்னும் என் நினைவுகளில்..., the flute in back drop throughout "அடடா வா அசத்தலாம் i wanna more with you" song is really அசத்தல், wanna watch more, and "மேகம் கருக்குது, மழை வரப்பார்க்குது, வீசியகடிக்குது காத்து, இளங்காத்து" lines insertion in  சுட்டல் சூரியனை is touching and usage of water drops sound in காற்றுக்குளே melody also very nice, but Yuvan sir, please stop singing, otherwise i ll cry, there are choice of singers avidly waiting, why you கஷ்டபடிங்?! Though that first songs in both halves are inappropriate for story/scenes, however watching them makes me inarticulate...such a sophisticated make. 

So, this time miserable vs miserable thriller goes miserable, coz' of its screenplay(like most thriller movies).

Atlast we all know Vishnuvardan is like a phoenix, after a flop in Kurumbu, he started from substratum through A.ariyamalum and pattiyal, so same way he ll back again with another real ace...can can...However i really love his films for his make and versatile, the range of scripts or ground is what makes him as one of the celebrity filmmaker in our film industry.

ஸ்ரீரங்கம்: சுஜாதா

ஒரு ஊருக்கு செல்கிறீர்கள், அதில் ஒவ்வொரு இடத்திலும் உங்கலுக்கு ஒரு விதமான நினைவுகள் வருகிறது, அதுவும் நீங்கள் பார்க்காத ஒரு மனிதர் உங்கலுக்கு அவ்வூரின் அருமை, பெருமைகளை, நினைவுகளை, வரலாறை, தெருச்சண்டையை, உங்களின் நினைவுகளினூடே பகிர்ந்துகொள்கிறார் என்றால் அது சுஜாதவும், ஸ்ரீரங்கமும் தான். நேற்று ஸ்ரீரங்கத்தில் இருந்தபோது எனக்கு அப்படி ஒரு கலா-அனுபவம் கிடைத்தது, எந்த வீதியில் நடந்தாலும் சுஜாதாவும் என்னுடன் நடந்தார், அவ்வூரின் திசை காட்டிகளை விட அவரின் வார்த்தைகள் தான் என்னை இட்டுச்சென்றன. அவரின் எழுத்துகளின் வலிமை, எனக்கு நிஜ கடவுளை காட்டியது..சுஜாதா எங்கும் செல்லவில்லை, இங்கு தான் இருக்கிறார் என்பதை நேற்று தான் அரிந்தேன்.

நம் கலாசாரத்தின் இன்னும் ஒரு அவலம்..

நான் ஒரு நாத்திகனாக இருந்தும் பெற்ரோரின் வட்புறுத்தலினால் சென்ற மூன்று நாட்களாக கும்பகோணம், மயிலாடுதுறை சுற்றுப்பகுதிகளில் உள்ள கோயில்களிட்கு சென்றுருந்தேன், ஒரு ஆன்மீக பயணமாக...கோயில்களின் கட்டிட கலை பிரமிக்கவைக்கின்றன. நான் கோவை, திருப்பூர், சென்னை போன்ற கான்க்ரீட் காடுகளையே பார்த்து வளர்ந்ததினால், ஒரு ஊரை சுற்றி இத்தனை அழகான  கோயில்களா, நம் முன்னொர்கள் இவ்வளவு பொக்கிஷங்களை விட்டுசென்றுள்ளார்கள் என்று எண்ணும் பொழுது அதை காக்க எவ்வளவு சிரத்தை எடுக்க வேண்டும் என மனதிற்குள் ஒரு சிறு ஆசையேனும் வரவில்லை என்றாள் நாம் கலை, கலாசாரம் என்று பேசுவதில் உள்ள நெருடல்கள் நம் ஆழ்மனம் அறியும். அறிந்துவிட்டு போகட்டும் என்பது நம் தமிழ் sorry, டமிழ் பண்பாடு. ஆனால் ஒன்று மட்டும் நிதர்ஷனம், இந்திய சுகாதர சீர்கேடின் ஒட்டு மொத்த உருவம் நம் புனிதஸ்தலங்கள் என்பதே அது. Enviromental Health, Public Health, Nutrition, Diseases Control & Management, Disaster preparedness, Micronutrient Deficiency Control, Pollution Control, Sewage and Wastage treatment, Traffic congestion, என்று பிதற்றுபவர்கள் இந்த விஷயத்தை எப்படி மறந்தார்கள் என்று எண்ணும் பொழுது அவர்களின் கலாசாரப்பிணைப்பு என் நெஞ்சை துளையிட்டு குருதியை களைகிறது. If you have real guts, i suggest you to enter once in such a holy place, you'll get all kinda diseases except AIDS. மிக விரைவில் இந்த ஆளில்லா கட்டிட கலைகளில், இரவு நேரங்களில் இன்றைய ஆன்மீகவாதிகளால் ஏற்படும் molecules change-கலைகளின் காரணமாக AIDSம் கூட சாத்தியமே. அதிலும் இந்த காலணிகளை விட்டுவிட்டு உள்ளே செல்வது இன்னும் ஒரு அபத்தம், கோயில் அர்ச்சகர் தரும் தன் வியர்வை கலந்த தீர்த்தம் அடுத்த அசிங்கம், அதிலும் குடிதண்ணீர் என்று கோயிலில் வரும் தண்ணீருக்கு TASMAC பானங்கள் தேவாமிர்தம், இதற்கு side-dish-ஆக டாஸ்மாக் பார்களில் கிடைப்பதை விட அவலமான பிரசாதங்கள் வேறு, இவை அனைத்துக்கும் முத்தாய்ப்பாக எந்த கோயிலிலும் கழிவறை என்பதே அதன் சுற்றுச்சுவர் என்பதுதான். இன்னும் இப்படி நிறைய எழுதலாம், ஆனால் என்ன பயன் என்று எண்ணினால் அது உச்சகட்ட அபத்தம்!    

ஆனந்த மாண்டவம்...

சுஜாதா ஒரு முறை சொன்னது நியாபகம் இருக்கிறது, அவருடைய பழைய நாவலை திரைப்படமாக எடுத்து அதை அவர் பார்த்து ஏண்டா அந்த நாவலை எழுதினோம் என்று வருந்தியதை...பரவாயில்லை, கொஞ்சம் புண்னியம் செய்திருப்பார் போல..சொர்கத்திற்க்கு சென்றுவிட்டார், இல்லையென்றால் அவரின் பிரிவோம் சந்திப்போம் நாவலை "ஆனந்த தாண்டவம்" என்ற அகோர தாண்டவமாய் ஒரு படத்தை பார்த்து, ஏண்டா இந்த நாவலை எழுதினோம் என்று நரகத்திற்குள் ஓடி ஒழிந்திருப்பார். சொர்கத்தில் நிம்மதியாக வாழ்க சுஜாதா!   இதில் இன்னும் ஒரு நகைச்சுவை என்னவென்றால், சென்ற வாரம் கோவையில் பிரபல திரைஅரங்கில் வெளியிட்ட முதல் நாள் இந்த ஆகச்சிறந்த படைப்பை பார்க்க சென்றபொழுது, ஆரம்பதில் பத்து பேர் இருந்தனர், முடிவில் நான் மட்டுமே!! அதுவும் முடிவில்லாமல்  தூங்கிவிட்டதால்...          

மதவாதம், அயோக்கியத்தனம், இந்திய அரசியல்

பாரதிய ஜனதா கட்சி ஒரு மதவாத கட்சி என்று கூரும் மதச்சார்பற்ற கட்சிகள் அனைத்தும் மதச்சர்பற்ற கட்சிகளா? வன்னியர்கள் ஓட்டுகள் மட்டும் வாங்கி தன் மகனை மந்திரி ஆக்கும் பா.ம.க, முஸ்லிம்களை மட்டும் வைத்து கட்சி நடத்தும் முஸ்லிம் லீக், யாதவர்களை வைத்து நடத்தும் முலாயம், லாலு, மராத்தியர்களை நம்பி நடத்தும் சரத்பவார், சீக்கியர்களால் நடத்தப்படும் கட்சிகள், வட இந்தியர்களை, ப்ராமணர்களை எதிர்து அரசியல் தொழில் செய்யும் தி.மு.க, தலித் மக்களை விலை பொருட்கள் ஆக்கி தன் சொந்த பொருட்களை பெருக்கும் விடுதலை சிறுத்தை, மாயாவதி, பாஸ்வான், இன்னும் பிற ஜாதி கட்சிகள் என இந்தியா எனும் ஒரு தொழில் நிறுவனத்தை நடத்த வகுப்புவாத, இனவாத, மதவாத பிரிவினைகளை உருவாக்கும் அமைப்புகளை(ப.ஜா.க உட்பட)  மட்டுமே நம்பி நாம் நல்லது நடக்கும் என்று இன்னும் நம்பிக்கொண்டு வாக்குசாவடிக்கு சென்றால் நம் தலை விதியை யாராலும் மாற்றமுடியாது...

நாடு முழுவதும் அடிப்படை வசதிகள் இல்லை, சீரான கல்வி வசதிகள் இல்லை, சரியான பொருளாதர கொள்கைகள் இல்லை, உலகத்திற்கு உணவு அளிக்கும் விவசாயிகலுக்கு மூன்று வேலை உணவே இல்லை,

ரோடு, மின்சாரம், இன்னும் பிற இல்லை-கள்..ஆனால், Mc, RC, OC-கள் மட்டும் வீதிக்கு வீதி உண்டு!! சென்ற மாதம் முதல் இங்கே நெடுஞ்சாலை, குருஞ்சசாலை பூராவும் சாலையை மறித்துக் கொண்டு, வாகனங்களோ நம்மை போல் நடப்பவர்களோ செல்லவே முடியாமல் 100அடிக்கு  ஒரு கட் அவுட்டுகள் வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன. பிற வளர்ந்த நாடுகளில் இப்படி இல்லை, அங்கே ஜனாதிபதி பாராளுமன்றத்துக்குப் போவதற்காக யாரும் போக்குவரத்தை நிறுத்தி வைப்பதில்லை. அங்கே ஜனாதிபதிக்கும், துப்புரவுத் தொழிலாளிக்கும், பணக்காரனுக்கும், ஏழைக்கும் அடிப்படை வசதி ஒன்றுதான். சாரு,  ஞாநி, இன்னும் பிற சீர்திருத்தவாதிகள் கூறியதைப் போல்(ஆனால் இவை சாருவின் கீ-போடில் இருந்து வந்த நிதர்சன வார்த்தைகள்) இந்தியாவில் உள்ள அரசியல்வாதிகள் யாவரும் (தன் அரசியல் அயோக்கியத்தன செயல்களை தானே தன் படங்களில் குறை கூறும் காப்டன், கம்யூனிஸ்டகள் உட்பட) திருடர்கள்; கொள்ளைக்காரர்கள்; பயங்கரவாதிகள்; கொலைகாரர்கள்; போலீஸை வேலைக்காரர்களாக வைத்திருக்கும் சமூக விரோதிகள். இவர்கள் செய்யாத அயோக்கியத்தனமே இந்த உலகத்தில் எதுவும் கிடையாது. கொலை, கொள்ளை, திருட்டு, கற்பழிப்பு, ஃபோர்ஜரி, தேசத்தையே காட்டிக் கொடுத்தல் போன்ற செயல்களே இவர்களின் மூலதனம். பணத்துக்கும் அதிகாரத்துக்கும் எதையும் செய்யத் துணிந்த இவர்கள் அனைவரும் தூக்கில் போடப்பட வேண்டியவர்கள்; அல்லது, நடுத்தெருவில் வைத்துக் கல்லால் அடித்துக் கொல்லப்பட வேண்டியவர்கள். இந்திய தேசத்தில் 75 விழுக்காடு மக்கள் தெருநாய்களைப் போல் வாழ்வதற்கு இந்திய அரசியல்வாதிகள் என்று அறியப்படும் இந்தக் கிரிமினல்களே காரணம்..ஒன்றிரண்டு பேர் நீங்கலாக...இதில் மாற்றுக்கருத்து இருந்தால் சொல்லுங்கள், விளக்கம் தர நான் தயார்.. அப்படி ஏதானும் இருந்தால், நீங்கள் பாகிஸ்தானை சேர்ந்த பயங்கரவாதி என்பதில் எனக்கு கொஞ்சமும் சந்தேகமில்லை!.. இதுவரை நான் ஓட்டுப் போட்டதை எண்னி வெட்கப்படுகிறேன், இனிமேல் போடுவதாக இல்லை.

We never change!

I was passing time with my friends last evening and i coined a puzzle word "Election 2009", they said seriously, Lets speak something seriously. This is what people in India put their esteemed deeds for them. Even me too don't know the present Indian politics or pasts', but i know how the politics should be by de facto. Who bothers?..If we do, will get fever, that's our indefinite pledge.  We never vote to prevent our country from Mafia's, to prevent our uncivilized culture getting most uncivilized, like this we can extend the list, but we vote to get briyani parcel or some other offers and to prevent another bigger bugler getting into the top of the power. So our citizens are solid  of not being voted for us. Some times i get doubts or nightmares of people voting for US or Uganda elections in India, its ok, no use of speaking about Indian election in India. People had already decided. And why some people(these are the real difference makers to change the result of elections and our fate) don't want to vote in these Mafia's festival? Fact is, the candidates never truly reflects the changing nature of politics or governing practices and are failed to confront the substantive elements of issues we're facing day-to-day life. Do you know this makes USA as world largest democracy...India? Its largest "Flawed democracy", listed in Economist Intelligence Unit's 2008 Democracy index, based on 60 indicators like electoral process, functioning of government, civil liberties, political culture, blah-blah-blah, everything 'coz flaw-flaw-flaw. But in my index, the key difference is we Indian people. This will extent till we have to set foot for new wave of thoughts, i don't wanna tell necessarily what kinda thoughts... by the way the modern political system isn't necessarily a good thing always, perhaps if you'll understand this realistic insight of politics, or else let you be an actual intellectual Indian bum...then what?as usual, you never change, sorry we never change!! Change is never going to be a constant for our Indians in politics!

Politics in India is an entrepreneurial activity. PM is CEO, Ministers are CFO/COO's, MP's are regional/branch managers, non competing politicians/political scientists are relationship managers. Public money is all time or anytime investments, elections are Fund-raising activities, propaganda's are business promotion activities, Agenda's are easily forgettable fictional articles(Agenda, a short term word, used only before elections..), Mr&Mrs.Indian's awareness and fate are their USP, and motto?what else apart from "INDIA FOR SALE", then at last Voters/Mr.public/sanjay ramaswamies/sanjay singhanias(short term memory losers) are loyalty customers without any customer satisfaction. Political enterprise's official bank is Swiss bank and bullying other parties at street corners, CNN and NDTV is their core business..What to say about Indian politics apart from this? 

Do you know how many political enterprises are there in India?  786(seven hundred and eighty six only) recognized and unrecognized political enterprises in India, it seems, according to our population we're increasing our parties...hee hee..INFLATION boss! Whether we achieved in economic growth or not, together we achieved in political growth...

Dear public, Watch the last name of the leaders and party's inside/intra democracy, none of the 786 parties are secular nor democratic parties. So, you, me, and everyone, knows the systematic hierarchy and the business model of these political enterprises, but still we're making ourselves as(s) fools. Changes are always constant, it never change, but still we restrict changes..however, the real fact is, "changing" is one of the easiest task that i have known. So what? I have constant income+perks, shelter, car, entertainment chains, lifestyle, wife, keep,...and then for what else i should search?...see, thinking cells are always ridiculous...If i ll think about Indian politics, i ll end up in front of the voters booth with my vote been voted by my co citizen. Such a great citizens we are...free..

So what's my conclusion? To whom to vote myself? 

Still you need conclusion?? huh..crazy....okey, vote? As usual, here in my constituency, one of the candidates from leading front(election survey results he ll win with at least a lakh votes difference), is my family friend. So why should i vote for some other candidate? why should i bother about geographically marked fools landscape?

Dear politicians, don't worry for your social services, now only we're throwing shoes for 25 years ago crimes, you are already in the age of 70's or 80's, so be careful at the age of 95's or 105's??!!

Democracy is the government of the politicians, by the people, and for the politicians!! 

Joy of Flying

Some visuals are nice to word it, but some words are very nice to visualize. Here, http://www.sramakrishnan.com/view.asp?id=251&PS=1 are such kinda words by writer S.Ramakrishnan about a documentary movie "Winged Migration" and its making. More than five hundred crew members, fourteen cinematographers, three directors, twenty scientists, six bird researchers, seventeen pilots, forty countries and over four years to shoot...and budget? over 100 crores for this documentary, hard to believe? Must believe and appreciate this creation. I too watch movies constantly, but not a few of them are documentaries, almost none, this article/review insist me to watch such ones.

Parliment elections and Tamil cinema Industry

I got an sms on Parliament elections 2009 to whom to vote in Tamil nadu, its a perfect election galatta comedy as per my knowledge. It goes like this...

Jayalalitha, vaiko, karunanidhi are in a helicopter..Karunanidhi drops 100 rupees and says i made one tamilian happy! Vaiko drops two 50 rupees and says i made two tamilian happy! Then Jayalalitha drops 100 one rupee coins and says i made 100 tamilians happy! Watching this pilot says i ll stop this helicopter now so that 6 crore tamilians will be happy..then final touch was, sender suggested us to vote for Vijakanth, so that he wont act in movies, Tamil cine industry ll also be saved!...

Hee hee, no one can change our fate!

Postmodernism

Postmodernism, a buzz word  and critical concept in art which is hard for me to get  a definite form of it. There are many moments after rare experiences of sensory aesthetic creations, i heard about people saying 'postmodernism'.. So i google-d(this too a postmodernism!) with so much curiosity...What does it mean? Does it be categorized?A cultural and ideological and intellectual configuration variously defined, with different aspects like Irony, playfulness, black humor, Pastiche,nIntertextuality, Metafiction, Poioumena, Historiographic metafiction, Temporal distortion, Technoculture and hyper-reality, Paranoia, Maximalism, Minimalism, Faction, Fabulation, Magic realism, with a general phenomenon emphasized by distrust of theories and ideologies and by drawing of attention to conventions...The theories or an art can't be simply reduced to "postmodernism" without controversy, and yet the arguments are drawn on and criticized very often in the name of what goes by the "postmodern"...Who cares? We have some other important works instead of knowing philosophies like gossiping about bloody Indian politics with sipping of Mc's, RC's or OC's with soda and pickle or talking about IPL, or watching intellectually censored latest cleavage cut and pelvic movement Indian movies, or discussing about the co-human(!)  with another co-human, the list will extend till all Indians will stop these evergreen moments or more...so i too have stopped to write about this kinda puzzling terms, but while i come across, i got an interesting article...

Metamorphic Movies 5

Cinema may be a dream industry, but its manufacturing factory is our human life. We have had come across enough of feelings in multiple experiences. Oscillations are feeling's triggering point. Either you have to stand at least any one of the side, but wherever you stand, the feel about its anti-side will definitely drag inside, that's life...though you take new path, the dilemma/oscillations about conventional or being straight still disturbs you..the de facto solution is, either you have to die or should blame on fate or temporary escape. Here, my views are all about blood and flesh in bomb culture, an universal culture in information age.The makers Hany abu-asaad and santosh sivan had came across such a culture, we too, but these two allowed this culture to alter their inner molecules and it creates a riveting movies. Paradise Now and The Terrorist have rare insight about human mind in suicide bombers. Both movies focuses on Bombers, what and how would be their last days/moments before going to accomplish their mission.

Paradise Now, story about two life-long friends sayed and Kaled, and their mission of being suicide bombers. It starts with their present life, approach of terrorist/handlers on the previous day of mission(if it was some few days back, definitely they could have changed mind...a perfection), last supper on sayed's home, his sleepless night, goodbye's, instructions on how to behave before the mission and their looks, pledge with god, who will pick up them in Israeli territory, why he picks up them, where will they go after mission(heaven!!), on what time-interval each of them should detonate...then mission starts, immediately the oscillations too started..the expressions of the beginning stage of oscillations on sayed's face is astonishing. Then twist arises when they flee after Israeli army men in territory, then Kaled returns but Sayed runs away, again sayed tries to make an attempt in public bus but after watching a child in the coach, he changes his mind. Now kaled gets a time bound one day task of finding Sayed, he done eventually in Sayed dad's graveyard when he is about to detonate upon his frustration out of love(with suha, she flings off  to retain his conscience when she knows their plan), life, fate, fear, family, and his dad's reluctance. Again twist, both bombers are in handlers place, then Sayed promised for another attempt on next day morning itself. At last, what? End only...  

I like its ending, it is left with the viewers conclusion to determine whether he blast or not with a long zoom-in shot on sayed terrified eyes on the coach of Israeli's soldiers. Like this movies end, i like soderberg's "Traffic" movie end, my all time favourite, an awesome movie about drug traffic in US, i read a quote somewhere, I'm not sure about where, but phrase goes like this..' an art should not conclude or provide solution, the determination of an art lies in on its existence, not on its completeness', a complete words on in-complete art. Traffic,  explores the intricacy nuances of the drug trade from a number of perspectives: an user, an enforcer, a politician and a trafficker, whose life affects each other even though they're unknown to each other. Movie's allure lies in on layering all the aspects/factors involved on illegal drug business without any definite conclusion, but maker was clear about the vision/message he wants to pass.  He doesn't want to make about addicts, but gives a conspicuous bare view about drug traffic. Undoubtedly, a dream movie for me if i would allow to make a movie!  

Next one, The Terrorist, is ever most beautiful and one of best movies from India. Its all about a suicide bomber, Malli, a young woman, whose entire family members has been sacrificed for the mission of that terrorist groups vision and now, she is selected for a suicide assassination of a political VIP, then she is on the mission, travels to the nearer place where the incident going to carried out, instructions are uploading constantly, operational plan is ready, everything is fixed, parallely she gets to know the life outside the terrorist group while staying with normal people(with a farmer's family and its surroundings) for her mission, their growing relationship changing her slowly but it is too late, also her thoughts denying to accept the new life...A gradual increase of Protagonist's moral dilemma through her true love at war field, and life's greater meaning through the farmer and his wife haunts her decision other way...totally, its an incomprehensible make. And enchanting and reverential music spoiled the tempo of the movie. And cinematography, no doubt, santosh sivan is the best Indian cinematographer, but he could have shown little bit ugly, i mean he romanticised the way he crafted the protagonist. But no issue, definitely its a Visual treat! And dialogues, while dialogue-ing this movie, he forgets the reality of its content, may be the maker doesn't want controversies with provoking dialogues(cleverly avoided! இந்திய தணிக்கை துறை-யின் மீது பயமோ, தயவோ, என்னவோ...வாழ்க இ. த. து! ஏது எப்ப்டியோ, தமிழில் இப்படி ஒரு படம் வர தமிழ் என்ன தவம் செய்ததோ! தமிழ் படைப்புகளின் ஆகச்-சிறந்த படைப்பு...நம் மக்கள் ஒரு நூறு பேரேணும் பார்திருப்பார்களானால் சந்தோஷ் சிவனுக்கு அண்ணா, பெரியாருடன் அனைத்து வீதிகளிலும் சிலை வைத்து கொண்டாடி இருப்பார்கள்..பாவம், என்ன பாவம் செய்தாரோ..ஹீ ஹீ ), however its too holding back the harrowness of the movie. But overall, the treatment of the movie is breathtaking, gripping too..

Huh, Why i like these movies? These are the movies with the witness of distinguishing the real life and real death,  a violence inside the mind, and about an unfeigned martyr.
